Windows Live Mail is a good alternative from Outlook Express. In many ways they are similar programs. If you have transfered your settings and data (and E-mails) to Windows 7 via the Easy Transfer program and then install Live Mail, I believe (haven't checked myself) that it will automatically collect all your Outlook Express E-mails and settings and incorporate those into the new program.
